作品は単なる静的な存在ではなく、視線や時間、記憶や移動を織り込みながら立ち上がる「関係の装置」である。そこではイメージは固定されたものとして提示されるのではなく、鑑賞者の視線の運動や身体の位置、滞在する時間の長さによって、その都度異なる相貌を帯びる。作品は完結した物として閉じているのではなく、経験のなかで生成し続ける場として存在している。
鑑賞者の身体的な関与は、単なる受動的な鑑賞行為にとどまらない。歩み寄り、離れ、見上げ、あるいは横切るといった具体的な動きが、作品との関係を編み替え、その構造を可変的なものへと変えていく。見るという行為は、時間と空間のなかで展開する出来事であり、その重なりのなかで作品は絶えず更新される。
私の関心は、空間を単なる背景や展示の条件として扱うのではなく、作品と等価の構成要素として捉え直すことにある。空間は作品を受け入れる器ではなく、視線の流れや身体の動線を規定し、意味の生成に参与する能動的な要素である。その再定義を通して、私は「見ること」という行為の枠組みそのものを問い直そうとしている。
The work is not a static entity but a “relational apparatus” that emerges through the interweaving of gaze, time, memory, and movement. The image is not presented as something fixed; rather, it assumes different appearances depending on the viewer’s shifting gaze, bodily position, and duration of presence. The work does not exist as a closed, completed object, but as a site that continuously comes into being through experience.
The viewer’s bodily engagement is not limited to passive observation. Approaching, stepping back, looking up, or crossing through—these concrete movements reconfigure the relationship with the work, rendering its structure variable and contingent. Seeing is an event unfolding in time and space, and within this layered process the work is constantly renewed.
My interest lies in reconsidering space not as mere background or a condition of display, but as a constitutive element equal to the work itself. Space is not a neutral container; it actively shapes the flow of vision and bodily movement, participating in the production of meaning. Through this redefinition, I seek to question the very framework of what it means to see.
